How to Pick the Right Tux on Rental?

A tux rental can make you look simple, elegant and classic. But only if you choose the right one for your event or wedding style, and one that correctly fits your body. Choose the wrong color or style and you risk looking like a buffoon. The same holds true if you try to alter your measurements because of body image issues, which only succeeds in providing you with an ill-fitted suit.

If you’re not sure what type of tux rental to get, black tuxedos are always a great choice. They can be worn as easily to a wedding as they can to another formal event. If you’re looking for a tux rental strictly for a wedding, you can get away with wearing a gray or white tuxedo.

While there are still plenty of men who like cummerbunds, some fashion experts argue that they should have gone the way of the Do-Do bird, that is they should be extinct because they’re a fashion faux pas. The choice is yours and your fiancées. If your fiancée has always dreamed of marrying a guy wearing a cummerbund, then that’ll be what you have to do. But vests tend to look more timeless. Vests can be chosen in the color of the bridesmaids, but sometimes it’s simply easier to go with a basic black or silver. That way you don’t have to worry about your tux rental clashing with the flowers or not being quite the same shade as the bridesmaid’s dresses. Always make sure you have a matching handkerchief. And remember, this handkerchief is for decoration and isn’t really meant to be used.

For a classic tuxedo look you can select a bow tie with your tux rental. Some men, however, believe it makes them look either too scholarly or too nerdy. A long tie is equally appropriate. Try to stay away from colored ties, regardless of the style you choose. Black, white or silver are better choices. You also have the option to wear a tie for a modern and sleek look, and dress your groomsmen in bow ties to help you stand apart from them.

Put just as much attention into selecting the shirt type as you would into picking a vest and tie. While it’s true that the shirt will be mainly covered by the jacket, the best shirt choice for the suit style and your body will help give you that perfectly polished look that will make you look elegant and handsome. If you’re wearing a tie, and you should wear one, make sure you’re wearing a collared shirt. Collared shirts look good with both bow ties and neck ties.

Your tux rental store will probably offer you the option to rent cufflinks as well. They’re a must for any formal event that requires you to wear a tuxedo. The shop where you rent your tux will probably have a nice selection of cufflinks to rent. But you can also buy some yourself. They also make a great thank-you gift for your groomsmen. You can get them engraved with you and your bride’s name, or with the groomsmen’s names as well as the date of your wedding.
