How to Coordinate a Wedding Tuxedo With the Groomsmen?

A wedding typically requires a lot of pre-planning and coordination. And the same should hold true for your choice of wedding tuxedo. You don’t want to wait until the last minute to try to find a tux for you and your groomsmen because you probably won’t be able to get anything that looks good and matches.

Give yourself at least one to two months to arrange a wedding tuxedo rental before the special day. Ideally, the earlier you’re able to make arrangements the better. Getting fitted two to three months in advance is a better option. If you have several groomsmen, many alterations may need to be done in advance so you want to give the tailor and the shop as much time as possible to get the job done.

There are two main places where you can rent a wedding tuxedo. You can go with a chain shop or you can stick with a smaller boutique. It really doesn’t matter what type of place you choose to get your wedding tux from, as long as you go with a dealer that can provide you with what you need and makes you feel confident. You don’t want the added worry of your tuxes not being ready for your wedding day because the dealer is incompetent.

A reliable wedding tuxedo shop will guarantee that your tuxes are ready when you need them. If you have an exceptionally large wedding party with many groomsmen, then you may want to choose a chain. This is an especially good option if the groomsmen don’t all live in the same location. Chains are located nationwide which typically allows groomsmen to get measured and get their measurements in at the outlet nearest them without compromising the quality and fit of their tux.

You can check your local phone book to find dealers. Then you can visit the ones that most appeal to you to see if you feel comfortable with their service and selection. This can be time-consuming, but it works. If you’re able to get some recommendations, this is probably the easiest route to go. Ask around. Discuss experiences with rented formalwear with friends, relatives and coworkers. You can even ask around on wedding message boards to find out about the experiences other people have had with different dealers and how smoothly their wedding tuxedo rentals went.

Expect to pay more for a quality suit. You can rent a cheap wedding tuxedo, but it’s going to look cheap. So unless you’re on an exceptionally tight budget, fork out the extra money for a better quality tux and you’ll look much more elegant and classier in it. Remember, whatever you pay for a wedding tuxedo rental will always be much cheaper than what you would have had to pay if you had bought the tux and accessories yourself.

A black cookie-cutter and somewhat boring tux will be the cheapest to rent. Anything made of better quality fabric, with a designer look or upgraded silhouette will cost more.
