Have You Invested Too Much Time In Failed Relationships

Today, sometimes the dating world can just seem so crazy and out of hand. Back in the prairie days, there might have been only a handful of people to choose from that you could consider settling down and marrying. These days it can seem like just when you think you might have found someone you could truly be interested in, something goes wrong and then the interest is gone, either on your part or for them. You might already have months tied up into seeing someone you like and they might have a job that transfers them elsewhere or out of the blue they decide to stop seeing you.

No matter the reason, it can be really frustrating and disheartening when you have been through this same kind of scenario three or four times. Not to mention if a couple of them happened to be marriages that ended in divorce. This can be breaking up at its worst. Settling money and other property issues can be really stressful to say the least. It is always better if there are no children involved, but often this is not the case. It could be that when children are involved, you end up having to have a continual contact with the person your relationship was with because of children.

So what do you do when you have become gun shy with relationships or if you are just tired of investing precious time and emotions into those that inevitably fail? Well, one thing is for sure, there are no guarantees when it comes to dating, living together, or even marriage as we all know. Perhaps you are just someone who moves to fast when you meet someone new.

If you meet someone, date for a couple of months, and are already having thoughts of living together or marriage, this might be part of your problem. Then again, you might have dated someone for a couple of years before considering either of these. The truth is, plain and simple, you never know what tomorrow is going to bring with yourself or the other person. You might say it is a leap of faith when you delve further into a relationship because that is exactly what it is.

Maybe since your last break up you should just take a break. Spend some quality time with your own self. Go on a vacation alone, go out to dinner alone, stay at home and watch a movie you choose. This might not really be your thing if you do not really like to be alone, but evidently being with someone else all of the time is not working out too well for you either. Maybe if you spend a little time in reflection, you might learn somethings about yourself that might have contributed to your failed relationships.

It is usually not entirely the fault of someone else. Try talking to other singles on line for a while and get to know them this way before you jump into something serious. It is a great way to meet people without becoming deeply involved. If you do discover someone that sounds interesting enough to go out of a limb for again, take that first real life meeting slow too because people on the Internet can sometimes appear to be what they are not.
