Fighting With Your Partner – Do Not Burn Your Nerves Out!

Ending up in an argument is a general situation that all couples go through. At times, it gets so heated up that people living in the surrounding rental apartments can hear your noises as well. Because apartments might be built clustered together, this is a serious problem that your neighbors will face.

Arguments arise where there is a difference of opinion. Different minds think differently, and this is why you cannot possibly find someone who is exactly like you. Even if you do find such a person, within no time you will be bored, because there is nothing new to discover.

Well, let us face it. You too are in a relationship and currently going through a worst fight. Even though you might consider yourself to be on the right track, you cannot deny that the fight ruins every part of your day. No matter how hard you try to be happy, you still are not pleased or content.

Controlling your temper in the middle of an argument is surely not an easy task. However, even though it is hard, you must keep calm. If one of you is speaking, the other should remain quiet, and keep listening to what the other one has to say.

It is a better idea to wait for your turn. Tell your spouse that you know that there is a difference of opinion, you will listen to his/her side of the story without interrupting, and he/she should also do the same when you are presenting your opinion.

The biggest mistake that many couples do is fight in front of other people. Not only does this make the people annoyed, but it also hurts your relationship and the reputation that both of you have.

When you are arguing, never ever say something that makes your spouse feel that he/she is up to no good. Blaming the other person every time is not a wise thing to do. Never say things like, “You always—“, “You never—“, etc. Instead, put it on your own self and say something like, “I am afraid I just do not like to be treated this way.”

Whatever you do, do not disgrace your partner ever. You must never say things that humiliate him/her. Moreover, abusive language is a BIG NO! You might say things out of complete anger, but they can stick to your partner’s mind for life.

Be willing to apologize. Moreover, if your partner is apologizing, accept it and forgive him/her. Do remember, that if he/she is saying sorry, he/she values you and your relationship. If you are not accepting the apology, it is a clear sign that the subject of argument means more to you than your relationship.

The most important thing is to resolve the fight before you go to bed. Never ever sleep on a fight! The matter might be small, but if prolonged it can turn huge. The longer you wait, the harder it gets to end the issue.

Lastly, there is only one thing to remember: you and your partner share the bond of love. And, that is one reason that keeps you together.
